To send traditional text messages (i.e., SMS), you need a phone number. Apple users can use iMessage to send text messages and FaceTime using their iPhone, iPad, or other mobile devices. This requires Wi-Fi or a mobile data connection.
If you want to use iMessage with an eSIM, follow these steps:
Go to ‘Settings’ and select ‘Messages.’
Turn on ‘Send & Receive.’
Make sure you are connected to your Apple ID so you can send and receive iMessages.
